Boris Dorozhenko Power Skating School Registration Open !!

This camp will offer a combination of elite European power skating techniques, as well as development in puck skills like shooting, passing, stickhandling. Last year's camp was a huge success in all areas, players attended from the Ukraine, Russia, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Switzerland and from all over the United States. The camp is also geared towards improving elite players as last years camp had players from the WHL, NCAA, USHL, NAHL, and the BCHL attend. Private and Semi Private Lessons
Compete Hockey offers private and semi private on ice instruction throughout the entire year. These sessions are run by Compete director and founder Cam Severson. These sessions are held in the early mornings before school at Eagles Ice Arena in Spokane. Individualized Skill Development: Hockey Specific Power Skating- edge control, stride extension, quickness, agility and balance, tight turning. Puck Skill Development- shooting, passing and stickhandling. Scoring Tactics Defensive Tactics Batlle Drills Conditioning Program Logistics: Players are grouped with 2 or 3 other players within their age and skill level. Optional 1 on 1 private lesson instruction. Players receive individual skill testing in forward and backwards skating speed, shot power, shot accuracy, and transitional skating. Kim Severson does private power skating sessions at Eagles Ice Arena, Kim has vast knowledge of hockey specific power skating development. Kim has worked with numerous players using her experience as a professional figure skater to improve players edges, balance and body position. Association and Team Development Camps
Compete Hockey Schools has developed a program that is designed to improve youth hockey associations as well as individual teams overall individual skill level in all aspects of the game. The program is also designed to educate the local coaches within the association on how to teach proper skill techniques as well as how to design efficient practice plans that will enhance their teams’ performance. There will be a scheduled coaching seminar during the weekend. The development camps will be run by professional skills coach Cam Severson, Cam has played at the highest levels of hockey including the NHL with the Anaheim Ducks and Columbus Blue Jackets. Cam has been running Compete Hockey School for the past 11 years where he has worked with players that moved on to the NHL, NCAA, and WHL. Program Logistics: The camp is held over a weekend at the association or teams home rink. The ice is rented by the association. Groups are made up as per player numbers within certain ages and will be set up by the association. Players will receive 4 different ice times during the camp. Dryland and classroom time may be offered if the daily schedule permits. Local association coaches are invited to participate in the on ice sessions. Coaches will be asked to be at the arena 30 minutes prior to each ice session to go over on ice curriculum.
