Concept

Instruction on improving a player’s mechanics in the skill of shooting, and creating more scoring opportunities with proper puck control and puck battle techniques. Players become more confident with the puck in both shooting and puck control. Players also receive extensive off-ice shooting, puck control and strength training on site in the CDA Academy Training facility.

Monday – Thursday

Friday – 9:00 - 10:00 am (Saturday July 7th Week 1 Only)

On Ice Curriculum

Shooting 

• Learning different shots (wrist shot, snap shot, backhand, slap shot, one times)
• Shooting in stride with head up
• Quick release and accuracy
• Changing the shooting angle (pull and drag, forehand, to backhand)
• Breakaway moves
• Breakaway moves

Puck Control and Puck Protection  

• Body positioning with puck
• Evasive Puck Moves
• Stick Handling in Traffic
• Speed with the Puck
• Winning puck battles and first to pucks
