Cam Severson- Cam is the founder of Compete Hockey and Compete Hockey Academy. He has been involved in youth hockey skill development for the last 12 years in the Pacific Northwest area. Cam played in the NHL for the Anahein Ducks and the Columbus Blue Jackets, he played his junior hockey for the Spokane Chiefs and was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 1997 NHL Draft. He finished his professional career playing in Germany and Austria. Cam has coached numerous players that have moved on to play in the NHL, NCAA, WHL and other Tier 1 junior leagues throughout USA and Canada.

Rob Dumas-  Grew up in Vancouver, BC area throughout his youth.  Rob played as a Junior player in the WHL for Seattle Thunderbirds for 5 years.  He was drafted in 1987 by the St. Louis Blues.  Rob turned Pro in 1989 with the Blues affiliate team.  He played Pro for 13 years with various International Hockey League Teams (IHL) and East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Rob did spend 1 year in the Elite Premiere league in Europe.  Rob was named to the 25th Anniversary All time All-star team.  Rob ended his playing career as a Player/Coach for the Idaho Steelheads. He then became the Hockey Director for the Boise Jr. Steelheads  youth program from 2003-2013.  This year Rob has been invited to Coach at the Rocky Mountain District Development Camp and the Pre-Draft Camp in Boston. Rob will also be a guest coach at the Global Showcase event in Las Vegas and the Regional All Star U14 Development camp in Colorado.

 

Neil Breen- Began his junior hockey career as a 16-year-old with the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League where he established himself as a gritty player with the ability to score. Early in his second season in the BCHL, Omaha Lancers Head Coach Mike Hastings brought Neil to the USHL where he eventually became the Lancer’s Captain, MVP, and a USHL All Star.  In his last year as a Lancer Neil led his team to a Clark Cup Championship.

Breen then received a scholarship to Quinnipiac University where he was again named team captain and led the team to the NCAA Division I Playoffs. Additionally, Neil and his playoff team were recently inducted into the Quinnipiac Athletic Hall of Fame.

After playing a year of Pro in the Central Hockey League Neil left hockey to become a school teacher but his love for the game drew him back and he took a position as an Assistant Coach with the Hartford Junior Wolf Pack of the Eastern Hockey League where he developed junior players both on and off the ice as well as coaching the U16 team.

Recently Breen was a Head Coach for the Omaha AAA Midget program and an Assistant Coach in the highly touted USHL for the Tri-City Storm where Neil helped his team finish strong in the Clark Cup Playoffs.

Breen's motto has always been “You can’t beat compete.” He constantly incorporates what he has learned as a Teacher, Mixed Martial Artist, and Hockey Player into developing young players on and off the ice, as well as in the classroom.



Jeff Smith- Jeff has been a coach for Compete since the start of the program in 2004. Jeff attended the exclusive prep school Shattuck St Mary's and then went on to play for the Salmon Arm Silver Backs of the BCHL. Jeff then earned a hockey scholarship with Rochestor Institute of Technology (R.I.T) which plays in the NCAA Division 1. Jeff currently plays professional hockey in Gremany during the hockey season, and has previously played pro in Sweden and Denmark.

 

Lindsay Macy- Played her collegiate hockey for the University of Wisconsin Madison and Minnesota State University of Mankato. Lindsay played for the United States U-22 Women’s Ice Hockey National Team. She finished her playing career playing professional female hockey for the Minnesota Whitecaps. Lindsay than worked for the Owatonna High School Athletic Department in Owatonna, Minnesota where she was also the coach of the female high school varsity team. In 2015 Lindsay was Invited to go to the Multi-District Female Showcase as a Coach.


Kim Ferraro-Severson- Kim has observed over 500 professional hockey games including AHL,NHL and Top European leagues. She has a 15 year professional background in competitive figure skating as well as professional show skating.  Kim has developed a hockey specific power skating program that improves players edges, balance and agility. Kim works with individual players and small mini groups throughout the entire year at Eagles Ice Arena in Spokane. Kim also does guest appearances of Competes' various camps and program.
