Concept

This camp’s main focus is improving players individual skill level with a professional coaching staff and a challenging on-ice curriculum.  During this camp players will improve their speed, balance, and agility. There will also be a focus on shooting, puck control, passing, and offensive and defensive game situational techniques. 

Ages 

7 - 15

On Ice Curriculum 

Professional power skating instruction

Edge control, balance, acceleration, stride extension, transition, and agility

 

Shooting and Offensive Situations

Basic Mechanics, accuracy, quick release, shoot-to-score, shooting-in-stride

 

Passing and Puck Control

Passing control, stick handling in traffic, puck protection, and evasive puck moves

 

Game Situational Play

1 vs 1, offensive and defensive game play, defensive mechanics, gap control, small area games

 

Sample 7 Hour Daily Schedule (Monday – Thursday, see below for Fridays Schedule)

PLAYERS RECEIVE 23 TOTAL HOURS OF ICE TIME 

 

9:00 AM to 9:50 AM:  Edge Control, Balance, Transition, and Agility

10:00 AM to 10:50 AM: Stride Extension, Backward Skating, Acceleration, and Crossovers 

11:00 AM to 11:50 AM:  Shooting, Defensive and Offensive Game Situation Drills and 1 vs 1 Battle Drills. 

12:00 PM to 12:30 PM:  Lunch/Video

12:30 PM to 1:30 PM:  Dryland/Stretching

1:45 PM - 2:35 PM:  Puck Control and Passing

2:45 PM – 3:45 PM Scrimmages

4:00PM:  Checkout

 

Friday Schedule 

9:00 AM – 9:50 AM Puck Race Drills

10:00 AM – 10:50 AM Competition Games 

11:00 AM – 11:50 AM Scrimmages
