10 Week Skills Academy

(April - June)  Coeur d'Alene, Idaho –

 

Players receive individual skill development instruction over 10 week period. The one ice curriculum is designed to progressively improve a player’s overall skill level in skating, puck handling and shooting.

**All players will receive a detailed assessment of their skating, shooting, puck control ability

 

Goaltender Camp

(August 9th - 12th) Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Concept: Train on and off ice. Learn, practice and prefect the basic of goaltending by working on the details. This camp’s main focus is improving player’s individual skill level with a professional coaching staff and a challenging on and off ice curriculum. During this camp players will hone their focus, and learn to better understand the mental and physical aspects of goaltending.

Ages
7 and up; Adults welcome

On Ice and Off Ice Sessions
Goaltenders separated into small groups according to ages and ability to maximize learning.

Daily power skating sessions to enhance agility in movement, recovery, mobility, and foot speed.

Train and prefect individual skills such as stance, movement, angle play, rebound control, and puck
handling.
 

Learn save selection and technique. Learn exactly how to read, react, and even dictate what happens
during an offensive attack.

Personal video analysis of your individual goaltending style and skills – coach can give you specific input and skill development tips using video feedback for a minimal charge after the camp hours.
3:1 player to coach ratio.

Specialized Shooting and Stickhandling Camp

Coeur d'Alene Idaho

Concept

Instruction on improving a player’s mechanics in the skill of shooting, and creating more scoring opportunities with proper puck control and puck battle techniques. Players become more confident with the puck in both shooting and puck control. Players also receive extensive off-ice shooting, puck control and strength training on site in the CDA Academy Training facility.

There will also be a focus on shooting, puck control, passing, and offensive and defensive game situational techniques.

Concept: Goal scoring is a specialized skill in hockey. To some it comes natural but to most it is acquired through practice of proper mechanics, in depth instruction and repeated practice. Compete hockey has the answer for players struggling finding the mesh. Every aspect of goal scoring will be addressed for players to skate away confident and ready to light the lamp.

Defense is a vital part of hockey.  The Defensman position in youth hockey is often thought of as a place to put a non- offensive player when in fact it is the foundation of every team.
