Compete Hockey is proud to announce that greatest hockey player of all time came on the ice the last Friday to skate with all the participants. Wayne spends his summers in beautiful Coeur d' Alene Idaho. His son is particpating in the camp for 2 weeks.
The camp is run by world renown powerskating coach Boris Dorozhenko, Boris does camps all over the United States , Canada and Europe. Boris teaches players the techniques of power skating taught in Europe. Some of the best skaters in the National Hockey League were taught the European style of edge control, balance and explosive leg power.
"The improvement of the players skating in just 5 days is unbelievable, I have never seen anything like it " says Cam Severson the director of Compete Hockey Schools and Compete Hockey Academy.
Other notable NHL players like16 year veteran Russ Courtnall and Barret Jackman of the St Louis Blues have made appearences throughout the camp.
This years camp is spread out over 2 weeks starting July 8th through the 19th. Players are on the ice for almost 3 hours per day as well as 30 minutes of off ice speed and balance drills.
"'Our camp foremat is set up to not only improve players skating but allow families to enjoy the beautiful ammenities of beautiful Coeur d'Alene Lake and the surrounding area. We have families from all over the United States, Canada as well as one player from Russia." says Severson. "We look to expand this camp to run for 4 weeks throughout July and early August in years to come"
