Compete Hockey Academy Accepted Into The C.S.S.H.L
- Submitted by

As of April 15th, 2013, the Compete Academy Rams have been officially welcomed into the Canadian Sports School Hockey League. After just one year of existence, the performance of the Compete program last season has left an impression so lasting that they have earned a spot in the prestigious C.S.S.H.L., one of North America’s premier prep school hockey league, which only a year ago rejected the team’s application to join. This year was a different story, as the successes experienced by the program both on the ice and in administration has proven Compete Hockey Academy is worthy of joining the ranks of the other highly respected hockey institutions.

Acceptance in the C.S.S.H.L. will mean big things for the program for the upcoming season and for years down the road. It seemed the decision to admit the program was an easy one for the board of representatives charged with the selection process. Compete Hockey Academy already rivaled most programs with its new state of the art facilities, high end coaching and skill development, and most importantly an affiliation with a reputable educational institution, Genesis Preparatory Academy, which has been paramount in the recent success experienced by the program.

Compete Hockey Academy is now the first and only high level preparatory program of its kind in the Western United States. Compete had been trusted into a unique situation that allows them to play in a competitive regular season in an elite Canadian prep school hockey league, while its advantageous geographic location will give them the opportunity to play in the top tournaments in the United States. The amount of exposure Compete players will receive next season will help give the team a distinct advantage in recruiting the best players from around the Pacific Northwest, Alaska. California and Western Canada

With the Compete Rams first season under its belt, the academy continues its meteoric rise and will be expanding its programs to include a Midget Prep team which will play the C.S.S.H.L’s Midget Prep Division and an Midget Varsity program that will play in the newly formed Elite-15 (U-16) division, the Elite 15 league will be made of 1998 birth year players as well as skill and size ready 1999 birth year players.

Competes' next program expansion will include a Female Midget program and a Bantam AAA program. C.H.A will be cancelling their Bantam AAA program for 2013- 14 season but will look to add a Bantam AAA program in the near future.

“Although there is a great deal of excitement surrounding the upcoming season, the acceptance of Compete Hockey Academy into the C.S.S.H.L. has opened new doors for the young program, which will give the academy the opportunity to become an integral staple of the regional, and perhaps national, hockey community.
“Thank you to all of you who supported Compete Academy last season. Your effort and contributions is what made the advancement of this program possible.” Cam Severson, Compete Hockey Academy President and Director.
